Ignacio Ancona Horruitiner was the father of Leopoldo Ancona Hernandez who was the founding principal to the School of Biological Sciences inside the UNAM (Mexico’s most important university) as well as founder to the institute of Biology in the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, He was also the father of Leopoldo Javier Ancona Ramos gifted architect who won the gold medal at the architectural faculty of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in the year 1964.
